Planning for this years festival continues to progress and at this time are super stoked to announce that

Bullhorn , Bobby Alu and Z-Star Trinity

will be gracing our stages!!  plus a host of other magnificent artists still to be announced.

Early bird tickets will go on Sale Australia Day Saturday 26th January and will be available for one month
via our website and on trybooking.com

Early bird prices only apply to Full Weekend tickets.

Losing the Queen’s Birthday long weekend has brought a few changes to our festival. We have brought our Thursday night @ Folk Club, kicking off the festival with an exclusive locals set in the Jam Tin.

The introduction of the Yarning Circle with local Elders from the Bindal country last year was really special, and we look forward to them joining us again this year! Along with our regular 5 stages, kids fest, workshops, Woodenbong fire show, health & well-being, markets and food stalls, there’s more for everyone at Palm Creek Folk Festival. We also continue to improve our facilities to give you a great festival experience.

We put a ‘change of date’ to public opinion and the decision has been made....

WE ARE GOING TO REMAIN ON THE SAME WEEKEND, the second weekend of June. However, to make up for the loss of the long weekend, we are restructuring our ticketing to accommodate for those who can’t be there all weekend by introducing 1 and 2 night only camping tickets. Day tickets will still available, and last years, ‘sus out Sunday $30 day ticket’ worked a treat, so we’ll do it again this year. Terms & Conditions will apply.

Every year we aim for it to be “the best palm creek yet!” and next year already looks to be shaping up nicely with Z-Star Trinity, Bullhorn and Bobby Alu plus a host of other magnificent artists Still to be announced. So get ya festival themed ‘Crazy hats’ on & come boogie with us!
We are always after wonderful, reliable, willing & able volunteers! So if you think you can’t afford to come, consider trading 8-10 hours for a full weekend pass.

There’s an old saying, popularised by The Breakfast Club:

“you mess with the bull, you get the horns”.

What does it mean? Not much really. Mostly that if you do something dangerous, you might get hurt. One dangerous thing you could do would be to miss the crazy, brass based, MC led explosion that is BULLHORN. Formed in 2011, these party animals combine virtuosic musicianship, crazy arrangements, catchy grooves and upbeat rhythms to whip the audience into a veritable frenzy. As adept at creating original tunes as they are at reimagining the likes of Bonobo and Easy Star All Stars, this nine piece behemoth is hell-bent on good times.

Their presence is formidable; armed with trumpets, trombones, saxophones, drums, the mighty sousaphone and the massive presence of Roman MC. As BULLHORN starts to play audiences will experience intoxicating grooves and huge rumbling sounds around them as they descend into a world of rich sonic textures created live, acoustic and real.

That’s the theme of 2018 for Byron Bay singer, ukulele strummer and drummer Bobby Alu. It’s been a long-time personal and musical mission for the tropical ambassador, too.

Amidst smooth harmonies, rhythms inspired by a strong family lineage of Polynesian performance, and unassuming grooves that work a gradual, smile- inducing high through even a casual listener, Bobby Alu tunes have a way of sneaking into the subconscious and taking up residence. Every now and then, one will pop up as a toe-tapping reminder to take it slow, enjoy the ride. It’s the curator of calm’s way – deliver island-time vibes with gentle optimism rather than forceful instruction, and encourage the type of reflection best achieved in a hammock. Though it’s not all palm trees and daydreams – there’s a robust energy in Alu’s mastery of traditional Samoan log drums, and a vitality to his songwriting that nods to world, roots and pop intelligence.

After taking the Australian blues scene by storm in 2018 with 100 live shows, UK frontwoman Zee Gachette returns with her power trio, Z-STAR TRINITY, featuring Beck Flatt (Blues Arcadia) on drums. Setting stages alight with their high-octane blues and raw rock passion, the trio were touted as the highlight of many a festival last winter.

Expect deep evocative vocals, powerful pounding rhythms, memorising musicality…and plenty of wild whiskey swiggin’ rock n roll shenanigans!!

“Z-Star Trinity thunder into action with power and force...I could feel the beat through the floorboards, lifting me up out of my seat and onto the dance floor.” - Australian Stage

"Gachette carries a near-mythic reputation in the live game." - The Music

“A show to remember.” - The Courier
