PALM CREEK 2020 IS CANCELLED

Dearest Palm Creekers,

In light of the current pandemic facing the world, we have had to make the incredibly hard decision to cancel this years Palm Creek Folk Festival 11-14 June 2020. The foreseeable future is uncertain at this point in time, and as we have such a variation in the people who attend our festival, we have decided to put the public's health and safety first. We want to thank you for supporting our festival, and hope that you continue to support us into the future.

As our festival is a not-for-profit community event, we are asking for your help. For those who have already bought early bird tickets, we are prepared to validate your tickets for next years event at the current price you have paid. We're asking if you could hold your tickets until next years event to ensure we can host it.

Next year is our 30th anniversary and we are anticipating it will be our best festival yet! We are already getting busy organising a special line up of artists.

If for any reason between now and June next year, you know you are unable to attend, we will refund your ticket. For those who have contributed in time or a financial donation, again, we thank you for your support.

Take care of each other.

Lots of love from all of us here at The Palm Creek Folk Festival.

Start planning your Festival and camping experience NOW!!!!!!

This year, the theme is UNDER THE SEA. We are honoring WORLD OCEANS DAY, so decorate your site or yourself. We will have judges roaming the festival looking for the best participants and camp sites. If you win you get a Season Ticket to next year’s festival.

CAMPFIRES

Remember that if you have a campfire it must be in a brazier or fire safe container. You MUST have TWO buckets of water on standby at all times. Do not leave fires unattended or to be minded by your children. There must be an adult attending your fire at all times. We will be checking and if we find a fire unattended for a long period of time we will have to extinguish it and that would be sad.

PLEASE AIM FOR ONE CAR PER CAMPSITE

We can no longer fit multiple cars per site, so we now have parking available for the Pumpkin Patch and Noisy Camping. You will now be able to drop off your camping gear and park your car in the secured parking area. This will give us more room for patrons to camp.
Please plan to do this. So perhaps designate one of the campers cars to stay on site for securing valuables.

For anyone who hasn't seen them...

Folk funksters The Moonsets (formerly The Flumes) combine Electric Harp, Bass, drums and soulful vocals to create an eclectic blend of psychedelic folk laced with soul, funk, world, blues and a splash of subtropical groove. It's difficult to pin these musical adventurers down to one genre so be prepared to have any preconceptions blown in the best possible way.

The Moonsets independently produce and record on 100% solar power in their old wooden shack on the northern edges of the Sunshine Coast.

Here's what people are saying about the new EP...

"There is nothing cooler than an electric harp! The chilled vibes it creates and the pull and flow of the music are so enchanting". ~ Nkechi Anele Triple J

"Had no idea that an electric harp could have such a great, groovy, psychedelic and luscious rock sound, one that fits perfectly with the rest of the (fantastic) band and with some soulfully mesmerizing female vocals. Every song here shines in its own unique way, like pearls scattered in the sultry underbrush of a thick, tropical forest". Favorite track: Firefly. ~ muschiosauro

"The Moonsets play what you’d imagine in your head having known they’re from the ‘Sunshine Coast’ of Australia. Elements of psychedelic rock hazed with soulful and bluesy vocals and holding a pretty damn catchy island beat throughout. All in all this is a hot find and one I’ll be waiting for the rest of you to join the party soon". ~ Bucky
